On August 13, 2007, a new website devoted to writers emerged. One Stop Write Shop was created to give new and experienced writers a place to publish writing, enter writing competitions, and interact with writers from around the globe. Members at OSWS, have an array of writing tools available to them, such as the word bank, online journal, classes feature, and writing workshops that can be enrolled in without a fee.
The internet has been very successful for students, educators, the hobbyists, seeking information that is readily available on line, most of which can be obtained free. We could fill up an entire manuscript on what the World Wide Web offers in terms of information. With all of the new websites developed each day, the word, interaction is quite prevalent nowadays. Users have discovered numerous websites that offer activities such as: (IM), instant messaging, chat room service, forums for group discussion, and critiquing services.
Unlike a social networking community, an online community for writers offers something far more enticing to the novice writer and for working authors. Writers of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction have one very common goal, and that is to be read! An online writing community is a website designed to help writers get their first drafts reviewed for the purpose of improvement.
There are many websites that allow publication of poems, and even manuscript chapters, but what they do not offer is the feedback needed to improve the first draft. When you join an online writing community, you are in a sense enrolling in a writing workshop.

You can publish up to five pieces of writing for critique, enroll in an introductory writing workshop to learn new techniques, enter member hosted writing competitions, chat, send instant messages, and access numerous other activities as a free member!
In eight short months, writers from all over the world have joined this writing community, bringing with them more than 500 total publications to the site.
